The Conservative Party in Stone faces turmoil after this week's sensational disclosure in the Newsletter that one of St. Michael's councillors Lin Davies is threatening to quit her party.
A member of the controlling Tory group and the town's ex mayor, she was highly critical of the way in which business at Town Council meetings has been conducted and an expressed concerns about the democratic process.
'Councillor Davies told the Newsletter, "I'm considering the long term future of myself as a Conservative because I am so disillusioned with the way the council is operating."
"I agree entirely with Cllr. Davies's comments and share her concerns," said Richard Stevens. "I am also sure that there are several other Tory councillors who share her views. The fact that she has spoken out at this stage of a by election campaign indicates just how deep the problems are within the local Conservative Party"
