Liz Lynne was re-elected as a Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands in last Thursday's elections.The Liberal Democrat share of the vote increased by 2.5%.
After the result, Liz said "I am delighted and honoured that the people of this region have asked me to continue serving them. I feel that I have achieved a lot for the people of the West Midlands in the last five years, but there is much more to be done and I look forward to continuing the work."
"I think tonight's result is a reflection of the hard work that the whole Liberal Democrat team have put in right across the region. Our votes tonight included people from all different communities, faiths, ages and backgrounds and that is very encouraging because it shows that what we have to say is not just a message targeted at the few but a philosophy that can encompass everyone".
