The Mayor, John Russell, with Stone Town Councillor, Mark Hatton and Walton campaigner, Derek Boult
A party of over two dozen Liberal Democrats, supporters and friends braved the rain for a most enjoyable evening, last night, in the Mayor's Parlour in Stafford as guests of The Worshipful Mayor of Stafford Borough, Liberal Democrat Councillor John Russell.
John gave a fascinating talk about the history of the Borough through the ages and pointed out the numerous items of interest on display. To be allowed to handle two maces which had been held by both Queen Elizabeth I and our present monarch was quite an honour.
John's year of office will soon be over. He has been a superb Mayor and both the Borough and the Liberal Democrats can be justly proud of him. Congratulations to John and Noreen.
